Successful Fusion AX and AXON Installation at JSI and IMT in Slovenia!

Last week, our service engineer, Dr. Evan J. Spadafora, traveled to Ljubljana, Slovenia to visit both the Institute of Metal Materials and Technologies (IMT) and the Josef Stefan Institute (JSI). Both institutes had new Thermo Fisher microscopes recently installed and now can use them both with our #AXON machine-vision software and the #FusionAX heating systems.

Even with a high heat ramp rate of 30°C/s AXON was able to keep the Au/FeOx nanoparticles centered throughout the heating process up to a possible 1200°C using its drift control functionality! By using AXON’s focus assist, it was possible to keep the nanoparticles in focus, without using any of the microscope’s physical buttons.

Pictured at IMT are Dr. Darja Feizpour, Dr. Elena Tchernychova, and Dr. Francisco Ruizzepeda. Pictured at Josef Stefan Institute is Professor Janez Zavasnik.
