Glass E-chips for Ex Situ Electrochemistry

What if you could see gas generation before going in the TEM?

Optimizing electrochemical parameters inside the TEM consumes valuable microscope hours. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new glass E-chips; designed for ex situ optimization before ever going into the TEM.

These chips assemble just like standard electrochemistry E-chips, but the clear glass design makes it possible to directly visualize gas evolution and reactions even at the counter electrode using a standard optical microscope.

Available with both glassy carbon and platinum working electrodes, they allow researchers to:

  • Optimize electrolyte concentration, flow rate & applied potential before going into the TEM
  • Use an optical microscope to observe reaction behavior in real time
  • Save time and reduce costs by minimizing trial-and-error inside the TEM

These chips are not TEM-imaging compatible — but they are a powerful addition to the electrochemistry workflow, helping researchers streamline experiments, optimize parameters efficiently, and get the most out of their TEM time.
