Layer-by-Layer Growth of Bilayer Graphene Single-Crystals Enabled by Proximity Catalytic Activity

Publication Alert in Nano Today Using the Atmosphere AX for Materials Science!

Tuesday publication post! ๐Ÿ“– In this recent publication published in #NanoToday, a layer-by-layer graphene growth was observed using the #AtmosphereAX system! Authors confirmed a proximity-driven catalytic mechanism enabling bi-layer graphene single-crystal growth on Pt(111).

What did they observe?
๐Ÿ’  Real-time verification of layer-by-layer CVD growth.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Scalable synthesis of bi-, tri-, and tetra-layer graphene and h-BN few-layers.

Authors were able to precisely control over 2D material stacking for next-gen nanoelectronics. This research therefore showed a new catalytic mechanism for growing multi-layered vdW materials. This can finally help design and manufacture the next generation of electronic and optoelectronic devices.
