It was once more a pleasure to visit the PICO conference at Kasteel Vaalsbroek in the south of The Netherlands! This truly inspiring event brings together the electron microscopy community from across the globe.
Organized by Forschungszentrum Jülich, the Ernst Ruska Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons (ER-C), and RWTH Aachen University, the conference welcomed approximately 200–250 attendees from more than 20 countries spanning both Life Sciences and Materials Sciences.
Representing Protochips, Bas ter Mull had the opportunity to present our commercial pitch and discuss our latest in situ TEM solutions during the poster sessions. It was fantastic to connect with researchers, collaborators, and industry partners, and to see so many exciting developments being shared throughout the week.
The program featured outstanding keynote presentations, engaging poster sessions, networking events, and a memorable conference dinner inside the castle itself. One of the highlights was the visit to the ER-C facilities in Jülich, offering attendees an impressive look into their microscopy infrastructure and capabilities.
A big thank you to the organizers for hosting such a well-organized and high-level scientific meeting. We are grateful to have been part of it and are already looking forward to the next edition!
